- municipality: means a political subdivision incorporated under the laws of the state that is a home rule or general law city, a home rule or general law borough, or a unified municipality. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
The governing body of a municipality, not authorized to create a planning commission with power to prepare a general plan for the redevelopment of the municipality, may prepare a general plan before a redevelopment project is initiated under Alaska Stat. § 18.55.480 – 18.55.960.
