Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 45.45.550

  • action: includes any matter or proceeding in a court, civil or criminal. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

A person who suffers a loss as a result of another person knowingly engaging in conduct that violates Alaska Stat. § 45.45.50045.45.590 may bring a civil action to recover actual damages and reasonable attorney fees, to enjoin the violation, and to seek any other remedy available at law or equity for the violation. In this section, “knowingly” has the meaning given in Alaska Stat. § 11.81.900.
