Alaska Statutes 47.10.082 – Health and safety of child and other considerations

In making its dispositional order under Alaska Stat. § 47.10.080(c), the court shall keep the health and safety of the child as the court’s paramount concern and consider

(1) the best interests of the child;

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 47.10.082

care: means to provide for the physical, mental, and social needs of the child. See Alaska Statutes 47.10.990
child: means a person who is
(A) under 18 years of age. See Alaska Statutes 47.10.990
court: means the superior court of the state. See Alaska Statutes 47.10.990
state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

(2) the ability of the state to take custody and to care for the child to protect the child’s best interests under Alaska Stat. § 47.10.005 – 47.10.142; and

(3) the potential harm to the child caused by removal of the child from the home and family environment.
