(a)  The board may by ordinance or resolution provide that each director of the authority board be paid a sum not to exceed fifty dollars ($50) remuneration from authority funds, for each board or committee meeting attended, but not exceeding the sum of one hundred dollars ($100) per month, plus actual expenses incurred in attending board or committee meetings at rates payable to officers and employees of the authority for their attendance at meetings within the scope of their employment.

(b)  The board may, by ordinance or resolution, provide that each member of the professional advisory board be paid a sum not to exceed twenty-five dollars ($25) remuneration from authority funds, for each board or committee meeting attended, but not exceeding the sum of fifty dollars ($50) per month, plus his or her reasonable expenses for participating in authority business.

  • professional advisory board: means that advisory board to the authority's board composed of nine health and medical care professionals appointed by the Monterey County Board of Supervisors, five of whom shall be nominated by the Monterey County Medical Society, with at least one to be a member of the Monterey County Chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians, one of whom shall be nominated by Natividad Medical Center, one of whom shall be nominated by the Monterey County Hospital Administrators' Association, and two of whom shall be nominated by other organizations in the County of Monterey representing other professional health care providers. (c)  The board may by ordinance or resolution provide that each member of the community advisory board be paid a sum not to exceed fifteen dollars ($15) remuneration from authority funds, for each board or committee meeting attended, but not exceeding the sum of thirty dollars ($30) per month, plus his or her reasonable expenses for participating in authority business.

(d)  This section shall not apply to staff members of the authority.
