  • Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Assets: (1) The property comprising the estate of a deceased person, or (2) the property in a trust account.
  • Authority: means the Monterey County Special Health Care Authority. See California Health and Safety Code 101560

  • Federal assistance: means funds available to a municipality either directly or through allocation by the state, from the federal government as grants for construction of treatment works, pursuant to Title II of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, and acts amendatory thereof or supplementary thereto.   • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.

  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.

  • professional advisory board: means that advisory board to the authority's board composed of nine health and medical care professionals appointed by the Monterey County Board of Supervisors, five of whom shall be nominated by the Monterey County Medical Society, with at least one to be a member of the Monterey County Chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians, one of whom shall be nominated by Natividad Medical Center, one of whom shall be nominated by the Monterey County Hospital Administrators' Association, and two of whom shall be nominated by other organizations in the County of Monterey representing other professional health care providers.
