For purposes of this chapter, the following terms have the following meanings:
(a) “Department” means the State Department of Public Health.

- department: means State Department of Health Services. See California Health and Safety Code 20
- State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Health and Safety Code 23
(b) “Data collection pilot program” means the Childhood Drowning Data Collection Pilot Program established pursuant to this chapter.
