The department may, with the approval of the Department of General Services, enter into a cooperative agreement, upon the terms and under the conditions as the director deems wise, for either of the following purposes, with any county, city, or district that makes an appropriation for any such purpose:
(a) The protection and forest management of any lands over which the county, city, or district has jurisdiction.

- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
(b) The reforestation or afforestation on lands within the county, city, or district.
