  • Commission: means the Public Utilities Commission created by §. See California Public Utilities Code 20
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Energy transporter: means and includes every utility and nonutility owner or operator, or both, of a natural gas or electric transmission or distribution system, or both, subject to a franchise agreement executed pursuant to this division, provided that proprietary gas pipelines whose franchise fees are set forth in Article 2 (commencing with Section 6231) of Chapter 2 shall not be covered by this chapter.   • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
