- Administrative agency: means the state agency responsible for programming bond funds made available by Chapter 12. See California Health and Safety Code 39625.02
- Applicant: means any local public entity involved in the movement of freight through trade corridors of the state or involved in air quality improvements associated with goods movement. See California Health and Safety Code 39625.1
- authority: means the Siskiyou Railroad Authority. See California Government Code 93102
- bonds: includes both construction and refunding bonds except as otherwise expressly provided. See California Water Code 25200
- City: includes city and county and "incorporated town" but does not include "unincorporated town" or "village. See California Public Utilities Code 19
- Commission: means the Public Utilities Commission created by Section 1 of Article XII of the California Constitution, and "commissioner" means a member of the commission. See California Public Utilities Code 20
- Commissioner: means the Insurance Commissioner of this State. See California Insurance Code 20
- County: includes city and county. See California Public Utilities Code 18
- County: includes "city and county. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 14
- cruise ship: means a commercial vessel that has the capacity to carry 250 or more passengers for hire. See California Health and Safety Code 39631
- custody: means the legal right to custody of the child unless that right is held jointly by two or more persons, in which case "custody" means the physical custody of the child by one of the persons sharing the right to custody. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 17.1
- department: means the State Department of Health Services. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 14062
- department: means State Department of Health Services. See California Health and Safety Code 20
- director: means the State Director of Health Services. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 14061
- Domestic: means organized under the laws of this State, whether or not admitted. See California Insurance Code 26
- Emission sources: means one of the following categories of sources of air pollution associated with the movement of freight through California's trade corridors: heavy-duty trucks, locomotives, commercial harbor craft, ocean-going vessels related to freight, and cargo-handling equipment. See California Health and Safety Code 39625.1
- emissions: means emissions including, but not limited to, diesel particulate matter, oxides of nitrogen, oxides of sulfur, and reactive organic gases. See California Health and Safety Code 39625.1
- Medi-Cal: means the California Medical Assistance Program. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 14063
- oceangoing ship: means a private, commercial, government, or military vessel of 300 gross registered tons or more calling on California ports or places. See California Health and Safety Code 39631
- Person: means any person, firm, association, organization, partnership, business trust, corporation, limited liability company, or company. See California Health and Safety Code 19
- Person: means any person, association, organization, partnership, business trust, limited liability company, or corporation. See California Insurance Code 19
- project: includes equipment purchase, right-of-way acquisition, and project delivery costs. See California Health and Safety Code 39625.02
- Recipient agency: means the recipient of bond funds made available by Chapter 12. See California Health and Safety Code 39625.02
- Resident: means residing in this State, "nonresident" means not residing in this State. See California Insurance Code 30
- Spouse: includes "registered domestic partner" as required by §. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 12.2
- State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Public Utilities Code 17
- State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Health and Safety Code 23
- State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Insurance Code 28
- Subdivision: means a subdivision of the section in which that term occurs unless some other section is expressly mentioned. See California Public Utilities Code 10
- Trade corridors: means any of the following areas: the Los Angeles/Inland Empire region, the Central Valley region, the Bay Area region, and the San Diego/border region. See California Health and Safety Code 39625.1
