The governing body of a city, county, or local agency may do all of the following:
(a) Establish bikeways.
Terms Used In California Streets and Highways Code 891.8
- City: includes "city and county" and "incorporated town. See California Streets and Highways Code 15
- County: includes "city and county. See California Streets and Highways Code 14
- Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
(b) Acquire, by gift, purchase, or condemnation, land, real property, easements, or rights-of-way to establish bikeways.
(c) Establish bikeways pursuant to § 21207 of the Vehicle Code.
