Effective January 1, 1977, no payment for any prescription ophthalmic device shall be made under Medi-Cal if that device does not meet the standards adopted by the department, the State Board of Optometry or the Division of Licensing of the Medical Board of California under § 2541.3 of the Business and Professions Code.
