Any person required by an order of the commissioner to cease and desist from using any method, act or practice declared unlawful by § 42-110b or to make restitution may appeal therefrom in accordance with the provisions of § 4-183. Appeals under this section shall be privileged cases to be heard by the court as soon after the return day as shall be practicable.
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 42-110e
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Consumer Protection. See Connecticut General Statutes 42-110a
- Person: means a natural person, corporation, limited liability company, trust, partnership, incorporated or unincorporated association, and any other legal entity. See Connecticut General Statutes 42-110a
- Restitution: The court-ordered payment of money by the defendant to the victim for damages caused by the criminal action.
