Terms Used In 10 Guam Code Ann. § 2402
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
(a) Child means a person under eighteen (18) years of
age.
(b) Department means the Department of Public Health
and Social Services.
(c) Child Care Facility means any person or place which receives or arranges placement of one or more children who are not related to such person, whether for gain or otherwise, apart from the parents or guardian, with or without the

transfer of the right of custody, for the purpose of providing regular care or training for such child or children during either the day or night, or both. Except as otherwise provided, the term Child Care Facility includes, but is not limited to, all facilities defined by the Department of Public Health and Social Services as family day care homes, foster family homes, group care homes, residential treatment facilities, day care centers, day nursery, nursery school, kindergarten school, day care homes or similar institutions or units regardless of name.
(d) Guardian means the guardian of the person of a minor.
(e) Person means any person or persons, group of persons, agencies, associations, organizations, whether public, private or incorporated.
(f) Related means any of the following relationships by blood, marriage or adoption: parent, grandparent, brother, sister, stepparent, stepbrother, stepsister, uncle or aunt.
