Terms Used In 10 Guam Code Ann. § 63301

  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
Every officer in the Guam National Guard shall at the time of accepting his commission, and before entering upon the duties of his office, take and subscribe to the following oath of office:

“”I , do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Organic Act of the territory of Guam against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and of the Governor of Guam, that I make this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office of
in the National Guard of the territory of Guam upon which I am about to enter, so help me God.””

The oath of office may be taken before any officer of the Guam National Guard, an officer of the active military services or any other person authorized to administer the oath.
