Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 20 ILCS 1705/28

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Month: means a calendar month, and the word "year" a calendar year unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" alone, is equivalent to the expression "year of our Lord. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.10
     To keep, for each facility under the jurisdiction of the Department, a register of the number of officers, employees and recipients present each day in the year, in such form as to admit of a calculation of the average number present each month.
