  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Subject to appropriations, the Department, or independent contractual consultants engaged by the Department, shall research possible funding streams for the development and implementation of services for adults with autism spectrum disorders without an intellectual disability. Independent consultants must have expertise in Medicaid services and alternative federal and State funding mechanisms. The research may include, but need not be limited to, research of a Medicaid state plan amendment, a Section 1915(c) home and community based waiver, a Section 1115 research and demonstration waiver, vocational rehabilitation funding, mental health block grants, and other appropriate funding sources. The Department shall report the results of the research and its recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly by April 1, 2008.
