Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 20 ILCS 1705/72

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     Within 6 months after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 94th General Assembly, the Department shall adopt rules prescribing the procedures for reporting, investigating, and responding to violent acts against employees of facilities under the Department’s jurisdiction. As used in this Section, “violent acts” has the meaning ascribed to that term in the Health Care Workplace Violence Prevention Act.
