  • Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
     The Assistant Director shall be an officer appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, and shall serve for a term of 2 years beginning on the third Monday in January of the odd-numbered year, and until a successor is appointed and has qualified; except that the first Assistant Director under this Act shall be the Director of Nuclear Safety. The Assistant Director shall not hold any other remunerative public office. The Assistant Director shall receive an annual salary as set by the Compensation Review Board.
