The board of trustees may receive, in trust, from the proprietors or owners of any lot in any cemetery which it maintains or from any person interested in the maintenance of such a cemetery, any gift or legacy of money or property of a value of $50 or more which may be donated to such board for the maintenance of such lot or cemetery. The board has the right to convert any property so received into money. The board may use all such money, or the income thereof, as may be specified by the terms of the donor in making the gift or legacy.
Every gift or legacy made for any of the purposes mentioned in this Section to a cemetery by its name and which the board is maintaining under this Act shall vest in the board of trustees created under this Act and take effect to all intents and purposes as if made to such board and shall not fail merely because such cemetery is not being maintained or managed by the person or body named in the gift or legacy.
