Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 715/2

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     After December 31, 1975, all unprotected areas of unincorporated portions of counties shall be eligible for assignment by the Fire Marshal of fire protection coverage from a fire protection jurisdiction.
