Sec. 12. As used in this chapter, “request” means:
(2) a check or order for payment;
(1) a proper request for withdrawal; or

- account: means a contract of deposit of funds between a depositor and a financial institution. See Indiana Code 32-17-11-1
- financial institution: means any organization authorized to do business in Indiana under IC 28 or federal law relating to financial institutions. See Indiana Code 32-17-11-3

- withdrawal: includes payment to a third person pursuant to a check or other directive of a party. See Indiana Code 32-17-11-15
that complies with all conditions of the account, including special requirements concerning necessary signatures and regulations of the financial institution. If the financial institution conditions withdrawal or payment on advance notice, for purposes of this section, the request for withdrawal or payment is treated as immediately effective and a notice of intent to withdraw is treated as a request for withdrawal.
