Terms Used In Iowa Code 622.3
- Officer: means a certified law enforcement officer, fire fighter, emergency medical technician, paramedic, corrections officer, detention officer, jailer, probation or parole officer, communications officer, dispatcher, emergency management coordinator under chapter 29C, or any other law enforcement officer certified by the Iowa law enforcement academy and employed by a city, county, or state agency. See Iowa Code 622.10
- person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
No person offered as a witness in any action or proceeding in any court, or before any officer acting judicially, shall be excluded by reason of the person’s interests in the event of the action or proceeding, or because the person is a party thereto, except as provided in this chapter.
