Terms Used In Iowa Code 622.44

  • copies: includes patient records or images provided in electronic form, regardless of the form of the originals. See Iowa Code 622.10
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Record: means information that is inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in perceivable form. See Iowa Code 651.1
  • Register: means to issue a certificate showing the ownership of a certificated security or, in the case of an uncertificated security, to initiate or transfer an account showing ownership of the security. See Iowa Code 633D.2
  • United States: includes all the states. See Iowa Code 4.1
 Copies of entries made in the book of “copies of original entries”, kept as a record in the office of the county recorder, when such book has been compared with the originals and certified as true copies by the register of the United States land office at which such original entries were made, may, when certified by the recorder to be true copies, be received and read in evidence in all of the courts, with like effect as certified copies of original papers recorded in the recorder’s office.
