Terms Used In Iowa Code 622.57
- Records: includes probate and other official public records, as well as records in the office of the county recorder. See Iowa Code 614.29
- State: includes any state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and any territory or possession subject to the legislative authority of the United States. See Iowa Code 633D.2
- United States: includes all the states. See Iowa Code 4.1
Acts of the executive of the United States, or of this or any other state of the Union, or of a foreign government, are proved by the records of the state department of the respective governments, or by public documents purporting to have been printed by order of the legislatures of those governments, respectively, or by either branch thereof.
