- department: means the Iowa department of corrections and the Iowa department of human services. See Iowa Code 904.706
- seal: shall include an impression upon the paper alone, or upon wax, a wafer affixed to the paper, or an official stamp of a notarial officer as provided in chapter 9B. See Iowa Code 4.1
The department shall have an official seal with the words “Iowa Department of Corrections” and other engraved design as the board prescribes. Every commission, order, or other paper of an official nature executed by the department may be attested with the seal.
