Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 74-5025

  • Assistant provost: means the assistant provost of the division of continuing education of Kansas state university. See Kansas Statutes 74-5023
  • Community resource program: means a program designed and established in response to the educational, recreational, social and cultural needs of a community and which is operated by residents of the community who volunteer their talent, skills and knowledge in offering courses and activities for all the residents of the community. See Kansas Statutes 74-5023
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Local organization: means nonprofit organizations which are organized under public or private auspices especially for the purpose of establishing and operating community resource programs, free universities, community education programs or other community programs or services, or for purposes primarily concerning the general welfare of the community. See Kansas Statutes 74-5023
  • Program: means the Kansas individual development account program established in Kan. See Kansas Statutes 74-50,202
  • Training: means training of employees or preemployment training of prospective employees for jobs newly created by a new or expanding industry. See Kansas Statutes 74-5065

The assistant provost is hereby authorized to provide or contract for services in training and technical assistance to any local organization in connection with the establishment and operation of any community resource program. Such services may include workshops, meetings, conferences, publications and in-person visits to program sites. Contracts hereunder may be made and entered into with any individual, agency, association or institution which has the capability of providing statewide technical assistance and has ability and experience in the areas of training and community or human resources.
