As used in this act unless the context otherwise requires, “institution” means:
(a) Any institution as defined by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 38-2302, Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 75-5202 or 76-12a01, and amendments thereto;

- institution: means the university of Kansas, Kansas state university of agriculture and applied science, Wichita state university, Emporia state university, Pittsburg state university and Fort Hays state university. See Kansas Statutes 76-116d
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
(b) the Kansas state school for the blind;
(c) the Kansas state school for the deaf; and
(d) the Kansas veterans’ home and the Kansas soldiers’ home which are operated and administered by the commission on veterans affairs.
