Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 17:3397.3

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • corporation: means a nonprofit corporation organized under and pursuant to the Nonprofit Corporation Law, as provided in Chapter 2 of Title 12 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 17:3397.3

A.  As used in this Subpart, “corporation” means a nonprofit corporation organized under and pursuant to the Nonprofit Corporation Law, as provided in Chapter 2 of Title 12 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950.

B.  In the exercise of the powers, functions, and activities authorized by this Subpart, a corporation shall not constitute an instrumentality of the state, a state agency, board, or commission, or a political subdivision.
