Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 23:1599

  • Commission: means the Louisiana Workforce Commission. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 23:1
  • Employer: means :

                (a) Any employing unit which in any calendar quarter in either the current or preceding calendar year paid for services in employment wages of one thousand five hundred dollars or more for some portion of a day in each of twenty different calendar weeks, whether or not such weeks were consecutive, in either the current or the preceding calendar year, had in employment at least one individual regardless of whether the same individual was in employment each day. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 23:1472

An employer, his duly authorized representative, or the claimant may waive the right under this Chapter to receive written notices or determinations by certified mail.  The waiver shall be in writing and shall be mailed or transmitted electronically to the office of unemployment insurance administration within the Louisiana Workforce Commission.  If the right to receive written notices and determinations by certified mail has been waived, written notices or determinations may be transmitted by first class mail or by electronic delivery.  A notice or determination is deemed delivered when it has been mailed or electronically transmitted.
