Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 25:380.24

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

A.  The Department of State shall include in its annual budget request, required by La. Rev. Stat. 39:32, a request for funds necessary for support of the Louisiana State Oil and Gas Museum.  The governor shall include in the executive budget submitted to the legislature sufficient funding for the support of operations of the museum.

B.  Funds appropriated by the legislature to the Department of State for operation of the Louisiana State Oil and Gas Museum shall be used solely for that purpose and in accordance with the budget plan developed by the board to maintain accreditation standards.  No administrative costs of any kind shall be charged by the Department of State for any services associated with placement of the museum within the jurisdiction of the department.
