§ 25:850.1 St. Bernard Parish Arts, Culture, and Entertainment District

Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes > Title 25 > Chapter 17-D - St. Bernard Parish Arts, Culture, and Entertainment District

  • Assets: (1) The property comprising the estate of a deceased person, or (2) the property in a trust account.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • political subdivision: means :

    (1)  Any parish, municipality, special district, school board, sheriff, public board, institution, department, commission, district, corporation, agency, authority, or an agency or subdivision of any of these, and other public or governmental body of any kind which is not a state agency.   • Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
  • Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
  • state agency: means any board, commission, department, agency, special district, authority, or other entity of the state and, as used in La. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 13:5102
  • suit: means civil actions as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Art. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 13:5102
