Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name. Counterclaim: A claim that a defendant makes against a plaintiff. Creditable service: means a person's membership service, the person's prior service and service for which credit is allowable under sections 17755 and 17756; section 17760, subsection 3; section 18258; sections 18355 and 18356; and section 18360, subsection 2. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2942 Docket: A log containing brief entries of court proceedings. Document of gift: means a donor card, advance directive or other record used to make an anatomical gift. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2942 Domestic partner: means one of 2 unmarried adults who are domiciled together under long-term arrangements that evidence a commitment to remain responsible indefinitely for each other's welfare. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72 Donor: The person who makes a gift. Donor: means an individual whose body or part is the subject of an anatomical gift. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2942 Donor registry: means the Maine Organ Donor Registry maintained under Title 29?A, section 1402?A as well as any other electronic database that identifies donors and complies with section 2958. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2942 Drug user: means a person who uses any drugs, dependency-related drugs or hallucinogens in violation of any law of the State. (1) Workers' compensation benefits;
(2) Maintenance, if any;
(3) Any money paid by an employer to a 3rd party under a tax sheltered annuity contract or a deferred compensation plan for the future benefit of an employee provided that the money is not derived from amounts excluded from earnable compensation by paragraph B; and

See Maine Revised Statutes Title 5 Sec. 17001Entitlement: A Federal program or provision of law that requires payments to any person or unit of government that meets the eligibility criteria established by law. Entitlements constitute a binding obligation on the part of the Federal Government, and eligible recipients have legal recourse if the obligation is not fulfilled. Social Security and veterans' compensation and pensions are examples of entitlement programs. Epinephrine autoinjector: means a single-use device used for the automatic injection of a premeasured dose of epinephrine into a human body or another single-use epinephrine delivery system approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration for public use. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2150-F Equitable: Pertaining to civil suits in "equity" rather than in "law." In English legal history, the courts of "law" could order the payment of damages and could afford no other remedy. See damages. A separate court of "equity" could order someone to do something or to cease to do something. See, e.g., injunction. In American jurisprudence, the federal courts have both legal and equitable power, but the distinction is still an important one. For example, a trial by jury is normally available in "law" cases but not in "equity" cases. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006. Fixture filing: includes the filing of a financing statement covering goods of a transmitting utility that are or are to become fixtures. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 11 Sec. 9-1102 Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs. Guardian: means a person appointed by a court to make decisions regarding the support, care, education, health and welfare of an individual. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2942 Health care practitioner: means an individual who is licensed, registered or otherwise authorized in the appropriate jurisdiction to prescribe and administer drugs in the course of professional practice. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2150-F health insurance: means insurance of human beings against bodily injury, disablement or death by accident or accidental means, or the expense thereof, or against disablement or expense resulting from sickness, and every insurance appertaining thereto, including provision for the mental and emotional welfare of human beings by defraying the costs of legal services only to the extent provided for in chapter 38. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 24-A Sec. 704 Hospital: means a facility licensed as a hospital under chapter 405 or the law of any state or a facility operated as a hospital by the United States, a state or a subdivision of a state. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2942 Hub: means an organization licensed by the department that provides timely access to comprehensive, integrated assessment, treatment and recovery support for individuals with substance use disorder, including but not limited to opioid use disorders. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 5 Sec. 20003 Identification card: means a nondriver identification card issued by the Secretary of State under Title 29?A, section 1410. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2942 in writing: include printing and other modes of making legible words. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72 Inhabitant: means a person having an established residence in a place. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72 insured: as used in this chapter , shall not be construed as preventing a person other than the insured with a proper insurable interest from making application for and owning a policy covering the insured or from being entitled under such a policy to any indemnities, benefits and rights provided therein. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 24-A Sec. 2731 Integrated medication-assisted treatment: means a treatment method that combines medication approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of substance use disorder with counseling, urine drug screening and behavioral therapy that has proven effective in treating substance use disorder. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 5 Sec. 20003 lands: includes lands and all tenements and hereditaments connected therewith, and all rights thereto and interests therein. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72 Legacy: A gift of property made by will. Levels of care: means the continuum of recovery-oriented services that reflect an individual's risks, needs, strengths, resources and skills as determined by an assessment with standardized placement criteria conducted by a qualified clinician. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 5 Sec. 20003 Liabilities: The aggregate of all debts and other legal obligations of a particular person or legal entity. Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt. Local district: means :
A. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 5 Sec. 17001Majority: when used in reference to age shall mean the age of 18 and over. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72 Member: means any person included in the membership of a retirement program of the retirement system, as provided in chapter 423, subchapter 2, or chapter 425, subchapter 2. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 5 Sec. 17001 Membership service: means service rendered while a member of a retirement program of the retirement system on account of which contributions are made and for which credit is allowable under chapter 423, subchapter 4 or chapter 425, subchapter 4. Physician: means an individual authorized to practice medicine or osteopathy under the law of any state. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2942 Recovery residence: means a shared living residence for persons recovering from substance use disorder that is focused on peer support, provides to its residents an environment free of alcohol and illegal drugs and assists its residents by connecting the residents to support services or resources in the community that are available to persons recovering from substance use disorder. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 5 Sec. 20003 Recovery support services: means services that recognize recovery is a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives and strive to reach their full potential, including, but not limited to, safe housing, transportation, peer mentoring and coaching and assistance with and access to employment services. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 5 Sec. 20003 Refusal: means a record created under section 2947 that expressly states an intent to bar other persons from making an anatomical gift of an individual's body or part. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2942 Registered organization: means an organization formed or organized solely under the law of a single state or of the United States by the filing of a public organic record with, the issuance of a public organic record by or the enactment of legislation by the state or the United States. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 11 Sec. 9-1102 Regular interest: means interest at the rate set from time to time by the board in accordance with section 17156.
