  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.

All officers who shall have made settlements with the courts shall forthwith pay the county treasurer the full amount with which they stand charged on such settlement; in default thereof the county treasurer shall enforce the payment in the manner and by the means prescribed in sections 105.110 and 105.120.
