1. The chief administrative officer of each correctional center, with the approval of his division director, shall by rule and regulation designate the type of clothing to be worn by offenders.

2. All offenders confined in correctional centers shall be supplied with a sufficient quantity of wholesome food. Deprivation of food shall not be used as a disciplinary action.

  • Chief administrative officer: the institutional head of any correctional facility or his or her designee. See Missouri Laws 217.010
  • Correctional center: any premises or institution where incarceration, evaluation, care, treatment, or rehabilitation is provided to persons who are under the department's authority. See Missouri Laws 217.010
  • Director: the director of the department of corrections or his or her designee. See Missouri Laws 217.010
  • Division: a statutorily created agency within the department or an agency created by the departmental organizational plan. See Missouri Laws 217.010

3. The chief administrative officer shall keep advised as to the quantity and quality of food and clothing furnished the offenders and as to the health, condition and safekeeping of the offenders, and shall report those findings to his director.
