The board shall formulate and adopt an investment policy and supervise the investment activities of the company. The administrator may invest and reinvest the surplus or reserves of the company subject to the limitations imposed on domestic insurance companies by state law. The company may retain an independent investment counsel. The board shall periodically review and appraise the investment strategy being followed and the effectiveness of such services. Any investment counsel retained or hired shall periodically report to the board on investment results and related matters.
