1. Any revocation, resignation, expiration, or other termination of the commission of a notary public immediately terminates any existing registration as an electronic notary.

2. A notary’s decision to terminate registration as an electronic notary shall not automatically terminate the underlying commission of the notary.

  • certificate: the part of, or attachment to, a notarized document that, in the performance of the notarization, is completed by the notary, bears the notary's official signature and seal, and states the date, venue, and facts attested by the notary in the particular notarial act. 3. A notary who terminates registration as an electronic notary shall notify the secretary in writing and dispose of any pertinent software, coding, disk, certificate, card, token, or program as described in subsection 1 of section 486.995.
