Terms Used In Missouri Laws 87.030

  • Bequest: Property gifted by will.
  • Devise: To gift property by will.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Property: includes real and personal property. See Missouri Laws 1.020

All rewards in money, fees, gifts and endowments that may be paid or given for or on account of extraordinary services by said fire department or any member thereof, except when permitted by order of the board to be retained by said member, may be paid into said pension fund. The said board of trustees may take by gift, grant, devise or bequest any money, real estate, personal property, right of property, or other valuable thing, and the same shall be treated as a part of and for the uses of said fund.
