  • hereafter: means the time after the statute containing it takes effect. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

Every city in this state that now has or may hereafter have a population of less than thirty thousand inhabitants (that is now or may hereafter be incorporated and operating under the general statutes or special charter) shall have and is hereby given the power regarding sidewalks along any of the streets, avenues or other highways within such city, as provided in sections 88.863 to 88.913.
