State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201

(1)shall adopt rules necessary to carry out the purposes of this part;

(2)may spend no more than 5% of the appropriated funds for administrative costs of the program;

(3)shall accept federal funds that may be available for use in carrying out the provisions of this part;

(4)may use state funds as a match for federal funds if required; and

(5)may conduct research and compile statistics relating to battered spouses and domestic violence. (Repealed effective October 1, 2024–sec. 7, Ch. 62, L. 2023, sec. 9, Ch. 62, L. 2023.)
