Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 263:17

  • Driver: shall mean a person who drives or is in actual physical control of a motor vehicle as defined in N. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 259:25
  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • License: shall mean any driver's license or any other license or permit to drive a vehicle issued under the laws of this state or a reciprocating state including:

  • Person: shall mean the same as provided in N. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 259:74
No person under the age of 18 years shall be issued a driver‘s license unless the person’s father, mother, or guardian, or, in the event there is no parent or guardian, another responsible adult, gives written permission for the issuance of such license, insurance coverage is presented at the time of application or the person under 18 is emancipated by marriage.
