Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 516:13

  • Deposition: An oral statement made before an officer authorized by law to administer oaths. Such statements are often taken to examine potential witnesses, to obtain discovery, or to be used later in trial.
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
  • Testify: Answer questions in court.
  • Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
Any witness so summoned to testify or give his deposition shall be paid such fees for attendance and travel as witnesses are entitled to under the laws of the state in which the testimony or deposition is to be given.
