Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 40A:12A-47

  • director: means the Director of the Division of Local Government Services in the Department of Community Affairs. See New Jersey Statutes 40A:1-1
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 47. Commencing one year after the effective date of P.L.1992, c.79 (C. 40A:12A-1 et al.), a person appointed as executive director of a housing authority or redevelopment agency shall satisfactorily complete the course of study prescribed by the commissioner within two years of the date of appointment, and at least one half of the requisite courses shall be satisfactorily completed within one year of appointment. A person who fails to meet these requirements shall be deemed to have resigned the position effective at the end of the first year or second year of appointment, as appropriate.
