Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 45:16B-12

  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 12. For a period of one year after the effective date of P.L.2019, c.331 (C. 45:16B-1 et al.), any person who is practicing or residing in this State on the effective date of P.L.2019, c.331 (C. 45:16B-1 et al.) may qualify as a licensed nutritionist upon application for licensure and payment of the appropriate fee, provided the applicant furnishes evidence satisfactory to the board that the applicant has received a baccalaureate or higher academic degree from a United States regionally accredited college or university with a minimum of 30 credit hours or a major concentration of study in human nutrition, foods and nutrition, food systems management, nutritional science, nutritional education, community nutrition, public health nutrition, nutrition education, nutrition, nutrition science, clinical nutrition, applied clinical nutrition, nutrition counseling, nutrition and functional medicine, nutritional biochemistry, nutrition and integrative health, or related coursework approved by the board; and has been employed at least half-time as a nutritionist providing nutrition care services for the purpose of treatment or management of a disease or medical condition regularly for three of the last five years immediately preceding the effective date of P.L.2019, c.331 (C. 45:16B-1 et al.).
