(A) The act of congress entitled, “An act to provide for the promotion of vocational education; to provide for cooperation with the states in the promotion of such education in agriculture and the trades and industries; to provide for cooperation with the states in the preparation of teachers of vocational subjects; and to appropriate money and regulate its expenditure,” is hereby accepted. The state board of education has authority to accept supplementary acts for vocational education which are enacted by congress after September 16, 1957.

  • agriculture: includes farming; ranching; aquaculture; algaculture meaning the farming of algae; apiculture and related apicultural activities, production of honey, beeswax, honeycomb, and other related products; horticulture; viticulture, winemaking, and related activities; animal husbandry, including, but not limited to, the care and raising of livestock, equine, and fur-bearing animals; poultry husbandry and the production of poultry and poultry products; dairy production; the production of field crops, tobacco, fruits, vegetables, nursery stock, ornamental shrubs, ornamental trees, flowers, sod, or mushrooms; timber; pasturage; any combination of the foregoing; the processing, drying, storage, and marketing of agricultural products when those activities are conducted in conjunction with, but are secondary to, such husbandry or production; and any additions or modifications to the foregoing made by the director of agriculture by rule adopted in accordance with Chapter 119 of the Revised Code.   • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • state: means the state of Ohio. See Ohio Code 1.59

(B) The state board of education shall be the sole state agency for administration of programs for which federal funds are received pursuant to acts accepted under this section. This division does not apply to programs for which federal funds are received pursuant to the “Job Training Partnership Act,” 96 Stat. 1322 (1982), 29 U.S.C. § 1501.

(C) The state board shall secure the written approval of the governor prior to submission of any state plan or application prepared by the board or the department of education to obtain federal funds under any acts accepted under this section.
