If any employer fails to comply with section 4123.35 of the Revised Code in accordance with the rules of the administrator of workers’ compensation, the administrator shall file with the county recorder of any counties in which the employer’s property is located, its certificate of the amount of premium due from the employer, and that amount shall be a lien from the date of filing against the real property and personal property of the employer within the county in which the certificate is filed. The county recorder shall record and index the certificate in the official record. The county recorder shall make no charge for the services provided by this section to be performed by the county recorder.

  • Employer: means :

    (a) The state, including state hospitals, each county, municipal corporation, township, school district, and hospital owned by a political subdivision or subdivisions other than the state;

    (b) Every person, firm, professional employer organization, alternate employer organization, and private corporation, including any public service corporation, that (i) has in service one or more employees or shared employees regularly in the same business or in or about the same establishment under any contract of hire, express or implied, oral or written, or (ii) is bound by any such contract of hire or by any other written contract, to pay into the insurance fund the premiums provided by this chapter. See Ohio Code 4123.01

  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
  • Property: means real and personal property. See Ohio Code 1.59
  • Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
