Neither medical assistance nor amounts payable to vendors out of medical assistance funds are transferable or assignable at law or in equity and none of the money paid or payable under the provisions of this chapter is subject to execution, levy, attachment, garnishment or other legal process.   • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • Garnishment: Generally, garnishment is a court proceeding in which a creditor asks a court to order a third party who owes money to the debtor or otherwise holds assets belonging to the debtor to turn over to the creditor any of the debtor
  • Medical assistance: includes any care or services for any individual who is a patient in a medical institution or any care or services for any individual who has attained 65 years of age or is under 22 years of age, and who is a patient in a private or public institution for mental diseases. See Oregon Statutes 414.025
