In addition to the other remedies provided by law, the State Department of Agriculture may apply to the circuit court for, and such court shall have jurisdiction upon a summary hearing and for cause shown to grant, a temporary or permanent injunction restraining any person from violating any provision of a law under the jurisdiction of the department. [1959 c.229 § 9]

  • Department: means the State Department of Agriculture. See Oregon Statutes 561.005
  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
