Except as provided in ORS § 676.347, a person may not engage in the practice of optometry or purport in any way to be an optometrist or an expert in the field of optometry without having first obtained a license from the Oregon Board of Optometry as provided for in ORS § 683.010 to 683.340. In any prosecution for the violation of this section, the use of test cards, test lenses or of trial frames is prima facie evidence of the practice of optometry. Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 683.020

  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
  • Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
