Terms Used In South Carolina Code 40-47-115

  • Board: means the State Board of Medical Examiners for South Carolina. See South Carolina Code 40-47-20
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
The board has jurisdiction over the actions committed or omitted by current and former licensees as provided in § 40-1-115.
