Terms Used In South Carolina Code 43-5-155

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
If an application is not acted upon by the county department within the time limitations specified in § 43-5-148 the applicant may appeal to the state department in the manner and form prescribed in § 43-5-150.
